A: Measure the inside of the window frame in three places for width: across the top, middle & bottom. A blind that is too small for the window will let light in & look off. A blind that is too large will overpower a smaller window & can mess with the proportions of the wall & room.

A:First, decide if you want to use an inside mount (inside the window frame) or an outside mount (outside the window frame). Steel measuring tape is much more accurate than cloth measuring tape. Always measure to the nearest 1/8-inch. Don't round to a half or whole inch
